Our oenologists' opinion
Its dark garnet color offers a pure and elegant nose with black fruit aromas with minty fresh tip. On the palate this wine has a character of great harmony. It is full, wide and nervous. We distinguish in the mouth, sweet spices, cocoa and iodine notes. Its long finish is tense and tight coated with fine and noble tannins. Beautiful wine.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Maison DelasFounded in 1835, Delas was bought in 1977 by Deutz Champagnes. Today it belongs to Deutz and the Louis Roederer group. The Delas house operates an area of 30 hectares including 10 hectares of vineyards situated on appellation of Hermitage, 2 hectares of AOC St. Joseph and 18 hectares of A.O.C. Crozes-Hermitage.
- Terroir: The vineyard covers almost the entire town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and on some grounds of the four neighboring municipalities (Bédarrides, Courthézon, Orange and Sorgues).This wine is produced on a plot of 3 hectares. This is based on very stony soil, made up of large round quartz stones mixed with sandy red clay.
- Vinification: Haute-Pierre wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation for 10 days in concrete vats and a maceration of 8 to 10 days. Finally, a malolactic fermentation in tanks is performed before the wine is aged in oak barrels for a period of 8-14 months.
