Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Its coppery robe offers a powerful nose with notes of roasting then raspberries. On the palate, this champagne presents a good envelope on finesse and power, character of red fruits, all on fine bubbles, elegant and regular. Final persistent and fine.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

A limited series signed by a great Japanese designer. A demonstrative vintage that will appreciate now, but can also offer a superb cellar guard.

Domain and appellation

  • Moët et Chandon

Symbols of perfection, success and luxury « à la française », Dom Perignon was created in 1936 by Moët & Chandon marketing with the vintage 1921. 35 vintages in white and 21 rosé followed, all with an incredible ability to age. This prestigious cuvee pays tribute to Pierre Pérignon, or Dom Pérignon, famous monk of the Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers who in 1668 introduced the basics of the Champagne method and set out to create the "best wine in the world" .

    • Terroir: Located in the town of Epernay, the area of 1200 hectares owned by the LVMH group, is based on ground limestone and chalk.
    • Viticulture: Only selected from among the best vintages of Champagne, the vintage Dom Perignon champagnes are unique creations, with an identity and a style unique to their year.
    • Vinification: Made with the traditional champagne method, Champagne Dom Perignon follows 10 basic principles that govern the production of wines of the House. The complexity of the wine is due to a slow maturation, to preserve the freshness of the fruit while revealing new flavors and textures over time.
