Do you know ?
To celebrate the release of the 24th instalment of the most famous secret agent, "Spectre," Bollinger created a new limited edition bottle: Dress to Kill vintage 2009. Daniel Craig bought and dedicated several hundred bottles of this edition to offer to the entire film crew.
Domain and appellation
Founded in 1829, the prestigious Bollinger was born from the association of three men: Athanase Louis Emmanuel Hennequin - Count Villermont, Jacques Joseph Bollinger and Paul Renaudin. In 1976 Bollinger Grande Année Vintage became more than just vintage, this wine is the interpretation of a vintage whose features deserve to be highlighted, in order to develop a wine worthy of continuing the tradition of the great vintages of the prestigious House.
- Terroir: Located at Ay, a converging point between three parts of the Champagne region (the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs), this area of 160 hectares lies on clay-limestone and chalk gravel.
- Viticulture: Only the harvest of the highest quality are vintage. The vineyard covers two thirds of its grape requirements. Environmentally, Bollinger is the first house to obtain, in 2014, the new certification "Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne."
- Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. Moderately dosed, 7 grams of sugar per litre, the aging time in the cellar is more than twice the rules of the appellation.
