Our oenologists' opinion

Pale straw colour with moon highlights. Medium-sized bubbles, persistent in the string. The nose is open, frank and greedy, with notes of white flowers and white peach, and a hint of cinnamon apple. Attack with fine, creamy bubbles, tension, finesse, fairly dominant dosage. The finish is frank and greedy, with notes of white flower syrup and candied citrus fruit and a hint of salt.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Champagnes are classified into three categories: crus (or villages), grands crus and premiers crus. Out of a total of 320 crus, 17 are classified as grands crus and 44 as premiers crus.

Domain and appellation

  • CHAMPAGNE NICOLAS

A Nicolas Champagne is one that has been carefully selected by the House's oenologists. This meticulous selection begins with the base wine, and involves regular monitoring of all stages of vinification, bubbling and disgorging, right up to the arrival of the bottle at your wine merchant.

Terroir: The Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs offer a unique landscape for the production of chardonnay and pinot noir. Viticulture: Several grands crus are selected for this Champagne. Vinification: Produced using the Méthode Champenoise method, it is blended with 65% chardonnay and 35% pinot noir.
