Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
A beer with a smooth, compact head. Bright, intense, fairly clear bronze/yellow-orange colour. Open nose, on orange jam and hops, with a hint of honey. Attack on a rather fine and lively bubble, full-bodied, fine, rather full-bodied. The finish is sapid and racy, with a nice character on oranges and a moderate bitterness.
Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Brewery and region
-
An exceptional Japanese brewery, the Hitachino range is derived from the company's sake range. Indeed, sake, often compared to wine, is an alcohol based on the same process as beer, fermentation.
- Characteristics: This beer has been brewed with "Fukuri Mikan", a very aromatic Japanese orange variety.
- Food pairing: Peach duck
