Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Beer with dense, ochre-coloured foam, good hold. Old gold colour with a golden sheen. Straightforward nose with candied citrus fruits, notes of fresh spices and apricot. Supple attack, full of balance. Straightforward lengthening of the body. Character on candied yellow fruit. Thirst-quenching with persistance.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Bières Mont-Valérien 92

Its recipe was brewed in partnership with the Petite Couronne brewery in Gennevilliers. Not only does this solution bring the production closer to Suresnes, the commune of Mont-Valérien, but above all, the brewery is supplied by the water reserves of Mont-Valérien. Light (5.5%) and golden-blonde in colour (honey: EBC 12-15 and SRM 6-8), it is the direct result of the choice of four malts, two hops and a yeast that is very typical of an abbey beer. Its bitterness is deliberately marked without falling into the IPA genre (IBU 20-30). When tasting the Mont-Valérien 92 lager, a slight bitterness that is the hallmark of the great beers appears and then disappears very quickly to find all the olfactory flavours previously detected in the mouth.
