Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Pale straw yellow colour with green highlights. Fairly fine, homogeneous bubbles, persistent in the cordon. White champagne with a nose that needs to be aired, then expressive, buttery, with notes of brioche and hazelnut.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The term "Négociant-Manipulant" indicated on the label of Bellefon Besserat, noting that the grapes are purchased, in part or in whole, to be fermented with those of the domain.

Domain and appellation

  • Besserat de Bellefon

Founded in Aÿ  in 1843 by Edmond Besserat, the Besserat Bellefon House is now one of Lanson-BCC Group (Boizel Chanoine Champagne).

    • Viticulture: The House of Besserat Bellefon has a vineyard of 25 hectares, mainly located in the Marne Valley and relies on a network of growers from the BCC Group to the source grapes.

    • Vinification: Like the House Lanson, champagne of Besserat House Bellefon does not undergo malolactic fermentation. In addition, the use of short-run liquor dose allows the creation of bubbles 30% thinner and creamier side. Finally, bottled, the wine will rest slowly over fine lees for 3 years, thus making a more pronounced maturity.
