Fruity and well-rounded

Purple colour with ruby reflections. Straightforward fruity nose with hints of raspberry and violet. Supple attack of balance. Straightforward and fruity on the palate. Full-bodied, character on stewed red fruit, hints of fresh pepper. Tight tannins which will melt away quickly. Fruity finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le Loup dans la Bergerie is a creation of the Orliac children who wanted to have fun and renew the "entry-level" genre. This wine is the result of a long succession of laughter, impatience and the quest for pleasure.

Domain and appellation

    Located in Valfaunès at the foot of the Hortus and Pic Saint Louis mountains, the Orliac family vineyards cover 60 hectares of land in the heart of the Languedoc scrubland. The Orliac family was quick to see the potential of the Languedoc Rousillon vines to produce great wines.

        Terroir: The vineyards lie on alluvial terraces.

        Viticulture: Environmentally friendly viticulture practices are used to preserve the terroir. The vines are pruned in gobelet or double Cordon de Royat.

        Vinification: Short maceration lasting between 4 and 5 days. Fermentation lasts 2 to 3 weeks and takes place in vats.
