Fruity and well-rounded

Garnet colour with black highlights. Open nose, typical of black fruits, tapenade, hint of orange peel. Well-balanced, full-bodied and frank. Open and signed character as an extension of the nose. Finishes with ripe and tight tannins.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • La cave de Roquebrun

    The Roquebrun winery, created in 1967, is located in the Haut Languedoc Regional Park, 30 km north of Béziers between Montpellier and Toulouse. The village of Roquebrun benefits from an exceptional microclimate. This very mild but relatively arid climate, combined with the acidic schist soils, allows the different grape varieties of the Saint-Chinian appellation to flourish: Grenache, an ancestral grape variety which claims its place on the arid hillsides, Syrah and Mourvèdre, which let their aromatic potential explode for the elaboration of products of recognised quality and typicity. We produce AOC Saint-Chinian, AOC Languedoc, AOC Saint-Chinian-Roquebrun and IGP Pays d'Oc. VINIFICATION : Whole bunches for Syrah and traditional vinification for Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon.
