Fruity and well-rounded

Its clear and limpid colour offers a delicate and racey nose of notes of vegetables and fruit with a balsamic point. Supple in the mouth, smooth with a long persistance.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le saviez-vous ?

The "Tafia" pirates existed in the Isles for centuries, when Father Labat in 1694 devised a more elaborate distillation of the alcohol from sugar canes. Following a few changes, this ancient remedy against fever became what we call today: rum. 

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • Père Labat

    Located in Grand Bourg on the island of Marie-Galante since 1863, the small Poisson distillery has been making a very famous cane juice rum. It was named Père Labat, as a tribute to the missionary monk who pioneered techniques in making rum.

     

    • Production: Distilled in the purest tradition, cane juice rum from the island of Marie Galante, Père Labat is made from pure sugar cane juice.
