2400 bottles of Heidsieck & Co vintage 1907 were recovered from the wreck of the Jonkoping in 1998.

 

The ship was reportedly hit by a submarine during World War I, while it was on its way to deliver a shipment of Champagne to Russia.

    Founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck as a house of wool and wine, Heisieck & Co quickly specialised in Champagnes to become one of the most important players. From Marie-Antoinette to Tsar Nicolas II, the house knew how to satisfy the most exacting palates. The brand belongs to the Vranken Pommery Monopole group.

    • Viticulture: The vines are given much attention all year long with a selective pruning during winter. Harvests are manual.
