Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

The nose is initially closed, requiring some time to breathe, before opening up to reveal notes of plum, gooseberry and dark chocolate.

The attack is clean, with long, fairly rich tannins, supported by a harmonious balance.

On the palate, it reveals a character of fresh, crushed black fruits, with a slight floral touch and a hint of saltiness.

The finish is clean, supple and crisp, marked by notes of black fruits and a touch of sea salt, adding depth and distinctiveness.

The length is medium, with a hint of black pepper that lingers.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

It is a wine grown at an altitude of around 350 metres, made from a blend of single-vineyard selections of young Syrah and old Carignan.
