We do not buy casks directly from rum distilleries. We buy a blend of rum from the British Caribbean and bring it back to Scotland. We then fill our American oak casks with this rum for 6 months.

Domain and appellation

The Balvenie
Fondée en 1889 par William Grant, la distillerie, située à Dufftown, dans la région du Speyside, est détenue et dirigée par la même famille depuis 1892. Cette indépendance lui permet de se consacrer exclusivement à la production de single malts de manière artisanale.
- Fabrication: La double distillation est effectuée dans des alambics à repasse en cuivre. Ce single malt vieillit ensuite en fûts de bourbon « toastés » afin de caraméliser les sucres du bois et ouvrir ses pores avant un affinage en fûts ayant abrité du rhum des Caraïbes. Le plus jeune des whiskies ayant servi à l’assemblage de ce Balvenie a vieilli 14 ans minimum.
