Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Lemon yellow colour with green tints. Typical frank nose, with notes of exotic fruits, candied pineapple, opening up to white flowers. Supple attack, nervousness, sweetness. Good balance. Frank and sapid finish.

Green Gold

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

There are more than 690 cooperative cellars and unions in France. Together, these 84,000 winegrowers produce 39% of their wines in Appellations d'Origines Contrôlées, 71% in Vins de Pays and export a third of their production. A real collective force, these cooperatives allow winegrowers to concentrate on their vineyards without having to take direct responsibility for the vinification and marketing of their wines.

Domain and appellation

  • La Cave des Vignerons de Frontignan

Founded in 1904, the Cave des Vignerons de Frontignan makes wines from a single grape variety, the Muscat blanc à petits grains. This great fragrant, subtle and generous wine keeps the memory of its legendary origins in its twisted bottle.

Terroir: Situated at the foot of the Massif de la Gardiole, in the commune of Frontignan, the 460-hectare vineyard lies on clay-limestone soil.

Viticulture: The grapes are harvested by hand.

Winemaking: The wine is vinified by adding extra-neutral alcohol of vinic origin in order to stop the alcoholic fermentation. The wine is then matured on fine lees for 6 to 8 months.
