Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Le saviez-vous ?

It was in the Verzé quarry, on large sandstone slabs, that the most beautiful footprints of the direct ancestors of the dinosaurs were found.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • In the heart of the Mâconnais mountains, famous for their limestone rocks, Solutré and Vergisson, Verzé is home not only to Chardonnay vines, but also to a remarkable geological site: the former Rampon quarry. Here, the rock has preserved the memory of a period in our geological history dating back more than 300 million years, from volcanic activity to the arrival of the sea and the first passages of the ancestors of the dinosaurs! Some very beautiful dinosaur footprints bear witness to this. This Mâcon-Verzé is produced on this predominantly limestone terroir of complex origins.
