Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Purple colour with purple tints. Open nose of jammy red and black fruits, strawberry coulis, freshness, hint of vanilla. Straightforward attack with a medium body, balance and finesse. Character that prolongs the nose. Frank and greedy finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The small harvests are local wines bearing the European PGI - Protected Geographical Indication - label that Nicolas has his own expert oenologists make for you.

Domain and appellation

  • NICOLAS

The "Les petites récoltes" range is the fruit of a collaboration between Nicolas and the cellars capable of making the most of the terroir that surrounds them. Their specificity? A multitude of regional grape varieties associated with the "classic" grape varieties of the appellations, for blends in search of fruitiness and freshness, which adapt to the evolution of desires and tastes. Nicolas' oenologists evaluate the quality of the new vintages each year and blend them to give the best possible expression of the vintage. This exclusive blending, done with method and rigour, then requires bottling in excellent conditions of control both from the point of view of health and respect for the original quality of the wines. This technicality is guaranteed in the bottling plants chosen by Nicolas.

However, Les Petites Récoltes also takes particular care in selecting winegrowers who are committed to the practice of sustainable agriculture, concerned with the quality and quantity of their harvest and encouraging practices that are more respectful of the environment.
