Powerful bouquet

Dark tiled colour with brick highlights. Open and typical nose of candied fruits, cooked prunes, notes of cocoa, hint of grilled pepper. Good balance, well-structured, frank. Lovely bouquet character which prolongs the spices of the nose, notes of garrigue, melted tannins without fat. Good length on liquorice.

Features

The name of the Gatefer cuvée is that of a parcel of the property. It was added to the Domaine de La Clapière from the 2006 vintage.

    The DOMAINE DE LA CLAPIÈRE is located in the commune of Montagnac, near Pézenas, in the Languedoc region, halfway between Montpellier and Béziers. Of the 60 hectares of the estate, 36 are devoted to vines. Imbued with Mediterranean charm, the estate exudes a gentle way of life; its subtle elegance is unostentatious. As for the terroir, the alluvial terraces mix gravelly filtering zones and outcropping rocks, while a mosaic of grape varieties cohabit.
