Light straw yellow colour with white gold highlights, limpid and brilliant; open, expressive nose with notes of pear in syrup, peat and smoke, toasted bread, iodine; round and aromatic attack with notes of juniper berries, peat and smoke, ample, fat, sapid; powerful finish, the alcohol is balanced by a beautiful richness; good length with minerality, notes of smoke and white pepper

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Islay, an island in the Hebrides archipelago, is known for its smoky, peaty and salty whiskies. The casks that make up this whisky have been carefully selected from the island's iconic distilleries.

Domain and appellation

  • THE CLASSIC RANGE

A complex and balanced style with a deliciously smoky edge. The Classic Range is a range of blended malts representing four classic styles of Scotch whisky: the peatiness of Islay, the sweetness of Speyside, the character of peated casks and the richness of sherry cask aging. Each product in the range is selected and blended by Berry Bros & Rudd, the official supplier to the British Crown.
