Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • GLENFIDDICH

    Après plusieurs années passées en fûts de bourbon, cette version de Glenfiddich a prolongé son vieillissement dans des fûts ayant contenu du sherry. Ce premier batch inaugure une série de onze versions à venir, réalisées par Brian Kinsman, Master Assembleur de la distillerie.

     

    Glenfiddich Malt master’s edition est le résultat d’un vieillissement en fûts de chêne américain ensuite soigneusement sélectionné par notre maitre de chai Brian Kinsman puis maturé en fûts de sherry pendant quelques années.

     

    Spécificité : Il d’agit d’une double maturation, c’est le vieillissement en fûts de sherry qui contribue à lui donner un caractère unique.

     

    Dans un premier temps ce single malt va vieillir en fût de chêne américain de 1er et 2ème remplissage environ 6 à 8 ans, pour ensuite être transféré les dernières années de sa maturation dans des ex-fûts de sherry Olorosso qui vont apporter à ce whisky un caractère unique pour un embouteillage à 43°.
