Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
Light yellow colour with white gold highlights. Typical, straightforward nose with citrus fruit and mineral notes, opening up to aromas of pomelo. Lively attack, well-balanced, taut, with a long, long finish of fresh citrus fruit and exotic fruit. Iodine and mineral notes. Good persistence.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
The name Cheval Noir comes from the legend that a fine, elegant and fast horse harvested the vineyard.

CHÂTEAU CHEVAL NOIR
Acquired by the Mähler-Besse family in 1937 to complement their prestigious estates in Haut-Médoc, Saint-Emilion and Saint-Estèphe, Château Cheval Noir bears the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation.
Terroir: The microclimate is particularly favourable to the appellation's flagship grape variety, Merlot. The 6-hectare estate is planted on limestone soils with 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc.
Viticulture: Great care is taken in viticulture, with green harvesting to ensure optimum ripeness of the fruit. Vinification: In 2008, the estate inaugurated a new winery, enabling the winemaking process to be refined so that the wine expresses the excellence of the terroir to the full.
