Powerful bouquet

Black colour with a violet hue. Clear nose of ripe redcurrants and candied black fruits. Notes of herbs and roasting. Fleshy attack, full and enveloping. Frankly woody length. Frank and greedy character. Good length and persistence.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

    The vineyard of this Karantes cuvée is located in the heart of a small valley, surrounded by the rocky cliffs of the Clape massif, offering a remarkable view of the sea. The climatic conditions are exceptional, both in terms of the amount of sunshine, the amount of heat stored by the limestone during the day and released to the grapes at night, and the effect of the Mediterranean Sea which moderates the summer temperatures. The vines of the K des Karantes are cultivated in organic agriculture and certified AB. Surrounded by pine forests, garrigues and woods, the vineyard of the K des Karantes benefits from an exceptional climate allowing a slow maturation of the grapes. The harvest is triggered by regular ripeness checks, by tasting the berries as the harvest approaches. The harvest is manual and the grapes are sorted in the vineyard and on arrival at the winery.
