Powerful bouquet

Dark brick colour with black highlights. Nose of candied fruits, cooked prunes, notes of leather and cocoa. Good balance on a full-bodied, fleshy and typical wine, with a hint of blond caramel. The finish is quite smooth and straightforward.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le saviez-vous ?

Every year in August, during the Jazz In Marciac festival, a famous jazz musician comes to the Château de Sabazan for a mini-concert under the hundred-year-old trees of the Château.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • CHATEAU DE SABAZAN

    Plaimont vinified the wines of this Château de Sabazan for the first time in 1987. Out of a total vineyard of 17 hectares, only 9 hectares are reserved for this cuvée. The terroir is situated on a plateau of tawny sand, which is found at a depth of 5 metres, allowing the Tannat grape variety to express all the breed and elegance of the Grands Vins de Graves. Only vines over 18 to 20 years old can express this potential.
