Powerful bouquet

Green colour with yellow highlights. Typical frank nose, herbaceous, on eucalyptus, verbena. Notes of herbs, flowers, a hint of resin. Supple attack, sweetness, roundness. Fresh, expressive, nice character, good length. Herbaceous aromas, aniseed notes, hint of liquorice. Full body. Nice long, frank and persistent finish.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Le saviez-vous ?

Traditionally considered a digestive, Chartreuse has only been consumed as a cocktail since the 19th century.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • Les Pères Chartreux

    The Chartreuse Liqueurs find their origin in a mysterious manuscript handed over to the Chartreux of Paris in 1605 by Marshal D'Estrées. They are still made today by the Pères Chartreux on the Aiguenoire site in Isère, not far from the monastery.
    130 plants are needed for the development of the Green Chartreuse, which contains only natural elements and ages for a long time in oak barrels.
    The Chartreux are the only holders of the recipe and a know-how for over 400 years.
