Well-rounded

Garnet colour with dark brick tints. A frank, open nose with a bouquet of black fruit coulis, roasted wood, toast, Agen prunes and a fresh hint of pepper. Good balance on a frank, full-bodied wine with finesse. Character that extends the notes of the nose, roasting, butterscotch, cinnamon, ripe, mellow tannins, supple. Ready to drink.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Chateau Suau wines have been organic for over 10 years and Vegan for 5 years.

Le domaine et l'appellation

  • CHÂTEAU SUAU

    Situé à Capian, 30km au sud-est de Bordeaux, ce château du XVIème siècle fut autrefois le pavillon de chasse de Jean-Louis de Nogaret de la Valette, duc d’Épernon.

     

    Restaurée au XVIIe siècle, la propriété fut rachetée par la famille de Suau en 1637. Au fil du temps, le château Suau a connu plusieurs acquéreurs avant d’être acheté par par la famille Bonnet de Mazamet en 1986.

     

    Depuis 2014, l'actuel actionnaire majoritaire est un homme d'affaires Argentin, Alejandro Bulgheroni Terroir: Le domaine de 66 hectares repose sur des côteaux argilo-graveleux.

     

    Depuis 2008, Château Suau travaille dans une démarche de production de vin biologique. Depuis 2018, tous les vins produits sur la propriété sont Vegan.
