Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Its green gold sustained color offers a beautiful nose of yellow fruit, quince and honey. In the mouth, this wine presents a nice balance, roundness and character. It is full-bodied with notes of white chocolate, caramel and honey. Good tension.

Green Gold

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Prost

Classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur by the Féret in 1855, the Château Prost owns a rich past of over 350 years.

    • Terroir: The 11 hectares vineyard lays on gravel and clay soils with a limestone asteriated subsoil. Sémillon, sauvignon and muscadelle are the main grape varieties.

    • Viticulture: The harvests are handpicked and occur with successive selective cut in order to only select the grapes that have been affected by the botrytis cinerea.

    • Vinification: The pressing is extremely slow in order to preserve all of the grapes aromas. Oak is used from the fermentation to the 12 to 18 months ageing phase. Wine are bottled three years after the harvests.
