Powerful bouquet

Garnet colour with brick reflections. Open nose on leather and caramel notes, opening up to stewed black fruits. Silky supple attack, the tannins are round, full of balance, mouth on candied black fruits, cocoa notes, length, good persistence. Sapid and greedy finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Peyrabon

    The oldest trace of Château Peyrabon dates back to the 18th century, when it appears on a map of Belleyme drawn up by the King's cartographic engineer. The property was already known for its wine production at this time.


        Terroir: The vineyard extends over 49 hectares with a soil composed of sandy gravel on a clayey subsoil. The estate has adopted reasoned pest control to cultivate its land: thanks to precise, expert and permanent observation and anticipation, it only very rarely uses phytosanitary products.

        Viticulture: The grapes are harvested by hand.

        Vinification: The wine ferments in fully thermo-regulated concrete and stainless steel vats, their temperature doesn't exceed 26°C. It is then aged for 14 months in barrels, 25% of which are new.
