Powerful bouquet

The clean nose reveals a complex bouquet, dominated by aromas of roasted plum and roasted spices, with hints of mocha and truffle.

 

The supple attack, carried by a fine structure, evolves into a characteristic length marked by roasting, undergrowth and hints of truffle.

 

The whole is well-balanced, with a strong aromatic bouquet and good persistence on the finish.

Caractéristiques

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

    Prieuré Saint-Jean de Bébian, a historic Languedoc landmark whose origins date back to Roman times, is the epitome of winemaking excellence and elegance.

     

    Under the direction of Benoît Pontenier since 2015, the estate cultivates its 19 hectares biodynamically, with precise, sulphur-free vinification, revealing wines of rare purity and delicate tannins.

     

    Heir to an exceptional terroir, planted with prestigious grape varieties such as the Syrah of Domaine Chave or the Grenache of Château Rayas, it has established itself as an essential benchmark thanks to its refined cuvées, combining tradition and innovation.
