Fruity and well-rounded

Pale colour with bright green hues. Clear nose of fresh hazelnuts, almonds, notes of ferns, buttered bread. Good balance on a frank, straightforward, fairly full-bodied wine. Character of green asparagus, blackcurrant buds, vanilla notes. Tense and frank finish.

The Max's range of wines pays tribute to cellar master Max Schubert (1948-1975), a legend in the history of Penfolds. He always strived for excellence in the creation of the company's wines and made a major contribution to its international reputation. Subsequent winemakers have been inspired by his exacting standards to continue his legacy.
