    Le Clos du Caillou, a historic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is now run by the fourth generation, represented by the brother-and-sister duo Axel and Marilou Vacheron.

     

    Situated at the heart of the appellation’s famous sandy terroirs, the estate, comprising old vines, is managed using organic and biodynamic farming methods. The wines of Le Clos du Caillou are renowned both in France and internationally for their style, characterised by finesse, precision and elegance.

     

    A remarkable historical fact is that the estate’s Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards are nestled right in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a consequence of the owner’s refusal to have his land assessed in 1936, when the appellation was created. This unique situation now allows the estate to benefit from truly exceptional terroirs.
