Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Amber colour with some old gold highlights. Nose to be opened of peaches in syrup, vanilla, floral notes of faded roses, lilac, hint of cardamom, burnt caramel. Well-balanced, straightforward, with sweetness and finesse. Nice character with toasted notes, gentian notes. Beautiful length on a sapid and elegant bitterness.

Features

Body The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

MAISON NOILLY PRAT

For more than two centuries, the House of Noilly Prat has been perpetuating a unique know-how to produce the oldest and most renowned of French vermouths. To give Noilly Prat Ambré its beautiful copper colour, the cellar master adds a selection of herbs and spices to the blend of wines, including rosebuds from Morocco, cardamom from India and cinnamon from Sri Lanka. Noilly Prat Ambré thus offers a very aromatic nose, in which we find herbaceous and floral notes, carried by the spices. On the palate, the notes are sweet, almost honeyed, with a touch of spice that wakes up the whole.
