Powerful bouquet

Its dark red brick color offers a bouquet nose of roasted red fruit with a wooded edge and black cherry. On the palate, this distinctive wine is balanced, vinious, full-bodied, full and nervous with a mineral edge and a finish on tight and sturdy tannins.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

This wine bears the nome of the Roman Emperor, Probus, which allowed the return of the vineyard in Quercy in the late third century AD.

Domain and appellation

  • Baldès et fils

    Located in the heart of the most prestigious Cahors climates, Clos Triguédina is owned by the Baldès family since 1830. Pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostela were accustomed to restore it: "me trigo dina" means in Occitan "I look forward to dinner."


    • Terroir: This area of 65 hectares of vineyards is based on soils of silty clay and limestone, semi-hills on the 3rd terraces of the Lot.


    • Viticulture: The vines are Guyot singles. From the budding of the leaf to the removal, a special care is taken in the vineyard. Green harvest are practiced on the vine during the summer. The vineyard is worked manually.


    • Vinification: The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels of Allier.
