Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful bouquet
Dark ruby colour with bright red highlights. Open, spicy, fresh nose, with notes of spices, camphor, incense and cloves, a hint of black pepper and morello cherry gratin. Sappy, fleshy attack. Character on pits, cherry stem and nutmeg. Balanced, elegant, quite full-bodied finish, with peony and black pepper. A lovely wine!

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
Our old vines are over thirty years old and produce a wine with exceptional aromatic intensity, faithfully revealing the terroirs of Mercurey.

Domaine Faiveley
Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of winegrowing Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley owns more than 120 hectares of vines. The desire of Eve Faiveley and Erwan Faiveley, 7th generation, is to reveal the greatest terroirs of Burgundy in a style combining power, finesse and elegance. The grapes are cut and sorted by hand. The grapes are cut and sorted by hand and the cap is punched twice a day to extract colour, tannins and aromas from the skins. After 15 to 19 days of vatting, the alcoholic fermentation is completed. The free-run wine is drained by gravity, while a slow and gentle pressing of the marc produces a press wine of great purity. For 12 months, we mature our wines in French oak barrels (10% of which are new) selected for their fine grain and their moderate toasting in our cellars with a natural and constant hygrometry and temperature.
