Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Its yellow color with green hues offers an open and typical nose of blackcurrant bud, vanilla woody notes and a mineral point of flint. On the palate, this wine presents a nice balance, full-bodied with character and a beautiful freshness.

Green colored tint

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

A gentle pressing allows the obtention of high quantity of juice and a filtration of the impurities.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Joseph Mellot

Family and historical domain for 500 years located in Sancerre. Joseph Mellot wines express the quintessence of each of their terroir. Under the leadership of Catherine Corbeau Mellot, the estate is committed to sustainable development and cultivates its vines in Reasoned Agriculture.

    • Terroir: This wine comes from the most beautiful flint hillsides facing the Loire.

    • Viticulture: A reasoned and sustainable culture adapted to each terroir. The harvest is manual.

    • Vinification: The harvest is sorted and then pressed slowly. The must is fermented in oak barrels. Fermentation lasts 2 months old cool cellars, in the heart of the village of Sancerre, allowing a subtle marriage between highly mineral expression of the terroir and the sweetness of aging on lees. The wine is then aged 12 months in casks.
