Our oenologists' opinion
Its garnet color offers an open nose, racy, on notes of candied plums, tobacco and spices. On the palate, this wine has a velvety and fleshy attack on silky tannins. velvety and elegant finish.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Classified as a cru bourgeois, Château Fonreaud culminates the Medoc vineyards. Its vat room goes back to the 17th century and its Bordeaux style castle from 1855. Facing the castle, the vineyard carries the Listrac-Médoc appellation.
- Terroir: The 32 hectares vineyard is located on a graves and clay soil with cabernet sauvignon and merlot for main grape varieties.
- Viticulture: The “Cousinié” method allows the winegrower to perfectly control his vines thanks to a thorough understanding of the Château’s geological structure.
- Vinification: The harvests are fermented in the vat rooms prior to age for 12 months in oak barrels.
