Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
Peach colour with pink gold sheen. Straightforward nose of grapefruit and small red berries. Opens on notes of cranberries. Supple attack, well-balanced and fresh. Straightforward lengthening, on fresh red fruits, strawberry and cherry. Good persistence of flavour.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
To obtain a wine with a 9° alcohol content, it goes through the dealcoholisation stage. A small volume is strongly dealcoholised and blended in proportion with the original vat to reach the desired level.
Domain and appellation
Domaine La Colombette
Created at the end of the 19th century by Mr Louis PUGIBET, a blacksmith, the Colombette estate has been passed down from generation to generation for over a century.
- Terroir: Located to the north of Béziers, at the very gates of the city, on the hillside separating the plains of the Orb and Libron rivers, the vineyard enjoys a privileged location. Facing the Mediterranean, it is set on a 100 m slope.
- Viticulture: The vineyard has been worked for several years with respect for the environment, management of the so called "natural bush" vine.
