Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

With its pale straw color, this wine offers a nice open nose of white flowers, exotic fruits and ripe pineapple. On the palate, it has a good balance with a frank character of exotic fruits, citrus and white flowers. Final frank and greedy.

Light Straw

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Obikwa takes its name from one of the first people of Cape.

Domain and appellation

  • Les Caves Adam Tas

Obikwa is a wine made in Adam Tas cellars in Stellenbosch (South Africa).

    • Terroir: The grapes come from selected vineyards in the wine regions of Paarl and Worcester in Western Cape, and were planted between 1970 and 1988 at altitudes of 130 to 180 m above sea level.

    • Viticulture: The manual harvest lasts from mid-February to early March when temperatures reach 21 ° C.

    • Vinification: After crushing, the juice is then fermented cold in stainless steel tanks at 13 ° C for about 14 days to preserve the intensity of the flavor.
