Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and light

Salmon colour with coral highlights. Nice frank nose of red fruits, notes of black cherries, fresh fruits, bananas. Balanced, medium body, fruity, easy, hint of sweetness. Frank character, quite crisp with red fruits and overripe notes. Good supple and greedy length with a hint of sweetness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Castel

In the Mediterranean climate, Pinot Noir is an early ripening grape variety that easily matures to produce refined rosés. The Aude region, backed by the Montagne Noire, brings freshness, maturity and balance to its wines. This cuvée is the result of a selection of the best plots from a Terra Vitis certified partner. Maison Castel observes, analyses and tastes the grapes regularly to monitor maturity and determine the optimum harvest date.
