Powerful bouquet

Its purple color offers a spicy and confitted nose. On the palate this wine has a fleshy and spicy attack, with a nice character. Velvety and racy finish.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

    Located in Carnoules, Château Deffends belongs to Mr. Verges, owner and winemaker since 1999.


    • Terroir: The vineyard of 30 hectares evolves on a clay and limestone soil.


    • Viticulture: In the vineyard, sustainable agriculture is privileged and vines are cared for throughout the year. The harvest is manual.


    • Vinification: This wine is composed of 4 different varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache noire and Carignan. The maturity of these varieties arrive at different times, they must be vinified separately. Then in January, the winemaker carries out the assembly of its various tanks by varying the proportions of each.
