Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Purple colour with ruby tints, nice frank and open nose of lilac, black fruit grapes, good balance on a vinous wine, fullness, roundness on a nice fruitiness, hints of liquorice, soft spices, melted tannins, nice frank and straight length, quite greedy, sapid

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • JEAN LORON depuis 1711

Chiroubles is the highest perched vineyard but also the one with the most homogeneous soils made only of pink granite. Traditional Beaujolais vinification with whole grapes. Maceration for 12 days. Aged in vats. This Chiroubles has a brilliant ruby-violet colour. On the nose, elegant notes of red fruit dominate: raspberry, redcurrant and strawberry blend harmoniously. The palate is pleasantly light, with a refreshingly acidic note that gives a wakeful, aromatic and persistent finish.
