Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Dark garnet colour with purple tints. Open nose, with notes of plums, blackberry and blueberry coulis and a hint of vanilla. Supple, fleshy attack, with notes of fresh black fruit and blackcurrant syrup, satin tannins, medium body. Fleshy, greedy finish, on black fruits, cocoa, hint of mocha, slight lengthening on cocoa and candied blackberry.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • VIGNOBLES CHATELIER

The Chatelier vineyards come from two winegrowing families and have been developing their estate for four generations: Built by Jean Julien Chatelier, Château Cantelaudette is the first stone in the building.

Our family estate is located in Arveyres, Gironde, France. Between Bordeaux and Libourne, our vineyards stretch across the plateau overlooking the Dordogne. The influence of the river and the proximity of the ocean contribute to the mild climate.
