Its brick red dress offers a fresh nose with aromas of red fruits and cherry. As for the taste, this wine has a beautiful shell of smoky notes. It is frank, round and nervous with coated velvety tannins.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Baron Pichon-Longueville

    Les Tourelles de Longueville, the second wine of Château Pichon-Longueville Baron (classified « Second Cru » in 1855), uses the know-how and its eldest terroir. Bought in 1987 by the Axa Vintages group, this vineyard of 73 hectares is located in Pauillac, Gironde.
    • Terroir: The second wine is produced on the land of St. Anne. This plot of 14 hectares of vineyards enjoys an oceanic climate and is based on clay, gravel and clay limestone soils.


    • Viticulture: Harvesting is done manually.


    • Vinification: Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 15 days and is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new wood / 50% one year old wood).
