Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Dark garnet colour. The nose is still dominated by toasted wood, lightly roasted followed by aromas of pepper, boxwood and liquorice. Beautiful balance on a frank, full-bodied wine, the character is frank and the tannins are ripe. Beautiful straightforward finish which has yet to melt.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château d'Arcins

When it comes to wine, the colours are particularly deep this year. The aromas are sharp with a beautiful intensity of ripe fruit and the concentration of tannins and anthocyanins are close to the excpetional 2016 vintage. The quality tank by tank is very consistent. The wine presents a good structure, volume and balance. 2018 is a vintage that has come a long way!
