Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Dark garnet colour with dark brick tints, limpid and shiny. Open nose with notes of red fruit au gratins, peony, caramel and dark chocolate and a hint of Espelette pepper. Supple, fruity, greedy attack with tension and fullness, sapid. Ample finish, long and fat tannins, on the red fruit gratin the cocoa, floral hint. Good balance, fleshy and full-bodied. A lovely wine for laying down!

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • DOMAINE RAPET

Our family estate is extremely old. After Robert, Roland, and now Vincent and Sylvette work hard to manage the estate. The estate has 20 hectares of vines in the villages of Pernand - Vergelesses, Savigny les Beaune, Aloxe Corton and Beaune. The vineyard of Pernand-Vergelesses is the only vineyard to propose an entire range of vintages, both whites and reds. It offers a welcome warmth to tourists and wine enthusiasts who really like to walk in the valley and profit off the tranquil beauty of the place.

Know-how: A great wine with greate vineyards. All our attention is directed towards the meticulous care of the vines and work on the soil. Mechanical labour of the soil following the Burgundian tradition. Careful disease and insect control carried out on the vine allows us to use minimal processing.
