Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful wine with potential

Deep yellow gold colour. Straightforward nose, open on peaty, smoky, ventresca, dried fruits, roasted wood, full-bodied, fleshy, powerful, rather virile. The alcohol is melted, notes of dark chocolate, mocha, dried fruits. Good frank, signed, uncompromising finish.

  • Keeping level Ready to drink

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • NIKKA

An timeless version of the Nikka brand, the single malt Miyagikyo replaces the classic range and perfectly retranscribes the delicate and fruity style of this distillery. The ageing process focuses on sherry casks, bringing a beautiful depth to the natural charm of this whiskey. Located in the Miyagi Valley, a region in the north of Honshu Island known for its clean air and spring water quality, Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery produces a refined malt with an instantly recognisable fruity and floral freshness. Profile: firm and full-bodied. Malted barley, sweet spices, chocolate, wax and coconut.
