Our oenologists' opinion
Fragrances recalling candied fruits and cocoa are released by this copper-colored whisky which is in mouth uncompromisingly well-balanced and powerful. Notes of dried fruits allied to aromas of vanilla-flavored wood appear during the finish.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Domain and appellation
Maker’s Mark is a story of family, the one of the Samuels family but also of savoir-faire. Their first bottle, produced in the Kentucky, dates back to 1958. Nowadays, Maker’s Mark allies savoir-faire and innovation with this Whisky Bourbon Maker's Mark 46. It is the result of lots of patience and a long process where many samples of oak wood differently cut and charred have been tested. The aim was to find the perfect wood to create the perfect bourbon. And when it has been found, the sample was the number 46… This whisky owes its aromas of vanilla and caramel to this wood.
