Our oenologists' opinion
Straw colour with golden hue. Frank, woody, vanilla nose. Slight finesse. Opens with dried fruit and caramel. Smoky notes. Supple attack, medium body, hint of sweetness. Lengthens on dry apricot, caramelised cereals, then on caramel and vanilla. Small character!
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
A single malt whisky refers only to malted barley from a single distillery while a blended scotch is a blend of single malts and grain whiskies.
Domain and appellation
This blend is the result of an assembly of grain and malt whiskeys born in the Highland and Speyside distilleries (Pulteney, Balbair, Knockdhu, Speyburn and Balmenach). It embodies all the work of the Master Blender to blend, with precision, different whiskeys and create a rich, balanced and fruity blend.
