Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Cloudy straw yellow colour. Pretty rather fine nose with hints of fresh pineapple, yellow peaches, then milk caramel, with a salty hint. Well-balanced, round, ample, fine, elegant, nice character, smoky notes. Nice length with a sapid and elegant finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

With its fruity and unctuous style, Dailuaine is only rarely accessible under its official Flor & Fauna bottling, allowing independent bottlers to highlight this distillery.

Domain and appellation

  • Dailuaine

Dailuaine was the largest distillery in Speyside at the end of the 19th century. Little known to the general public, it has left its mark on the history of whisky through its avant-garde approach to distillery design with the appearance of the first pagoda at the top of a distillery, allowing the smoke from drying the malt to escape more easily, which has now become the symbol of a distillery.
