Our oenologists' opinion
Powerful wine with potential
Cloudy lemon yellow colour. Pretty open and powerful nose with peaty, smoky, heather notes, iodised notes, fresh hints of eucalyptus. Well-balanced, straightforward, powerful, full-bodied with a beautiful finesse. Good character with peaty, candied fruit, white chocolate and hints of iodine and salt. Long and fresh finish with a hint of juniper.
Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
Ardmore has kept a very strong link with independent bottlers who are always looking to differentiate themselves by presenting an atypical peat that will go off the beaten track.

Ardmore
The Ardmore distillery is well known for its distinctive style, a peated Highland whisky.
Indeed, Ardmore has remained faithful to this style and was for a very long time the only distillery in the Highlands to have this particularity. This light peat is highly sought after and was often used in blends to create a light smoky note to add complexity. Although an official range does exist.
