Our oenologists' opinion
This straw-colored whiskey will astound you with its power and its full-bodied side, while also being all about control and finesse. A touch of white chocolate smooths the whole and turns this tasting moment into a pleasant and unique moment.
- Keeping level Ready to drink
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
The pure, crystal clear water used in the distillation process comes from the nearby Ochil Hills. In these hills gold was discovered. The Sovereign is a well-known gold coin of the English currency and echoes the golden colour of this whisky.
Domain and appellation
Sovereign is Tullibardine's signature product. It reflects the brand's experience and know-how in the ageing of its whiskies. This single malt scotch whisky is matured in first-fill Bourbon casks, mainly from whiskies aged in new oak barrels.
