Powerful wine with potential

Bright, deep golden colour.

 

The nose is straightforward, though not very complex, with aromas of white chocolate, jammy yellow fruit and a hint of fresh, almost aniseed-like spice.

 

Well-balanced on the palate, with a full-bodied, warm character.

 

Fresh hints of aniseed, peppermint and a hint of smoke.

 

A precise, chiselled whisky, without great roundness.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Togouchi whiskies are all aged in a unique location: a 361-metre-long tunnel dug in 1970. It provides ideal maturing conditions, allowing the aromas to be slowly extracted from the casks, which explains the elegance of the Togouchi range.

  • CHUGOKU JOZO

    Chugoku Jozo is a Japanese brewery located near Hiroshima. The Togouchi range is expanding with the launch of the Togouchi 9 and 15 years.

     

    Production: A blend of malt and grain whiskies with a minimum age of 9 years, containing nearly 40% malted barley.
